As Doubtless Pet Care continues to grow, we are seeking a People Shared Services Manager to join our People team for a 12 month fixed term.

What you’ll get up to as our People Shared Services Manager:
We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking People Shared Services Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused people services across our organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to support in shaping and enhancing our People Shared Services function, ensuring a seamless employee experience throughout the entire colleague lifecycle.
Initially supporting our UK businesses, you'll be responsible for driving operational excellence across People Operations and Payroll services, creating consistent, efficient and scalable processes that support our continued growth. Working closely with HR, Payroll and business leaders, you'll champion service excellence, compliance, process improvement and the effective use of technology to deliver a first-class colleague experience.
As our organisation continues to evolve, this role will play a key part in expanding shared services across Europe. You'll lead the integration of new countries into the service model, balancing the need for standardisation with local legislative requirements to ensure a consistent and compliant experience across the region.
A key focus of the role will be overseeing the day-to-day delivery of People Operations and Payroll services, including joiners, movers, leavers, employment contracts, employee data management and HR documentation, alongside governance of outsourced payroll providers. You'll drive continuous improvement through process standardisation, automation and the effective use of systems such as Workday, Sage and Kronos to improve efficiency, data accuracy and service delivery.

We're seeking a resilient and inspirational leader with experience of operating within a shared services environment, managing remote teams and delivering transformational change. You'll be comfortable building strong relationships across the business, influencing stakeholders at all levels and creating a high-performing, customer-focused team that is equipped to support a growing international organisation.
What We Look For In You
- Extensive experience in UK and EU Payroll management, ideally within a Shared Service or multi-site organisation.
- Experience of working with an HR Operational team to ensure clear and robust processes and procedures are in place.
- Experience of transformation projects across People Operations.
- Experience of designing and documenting payroll and HR processes using established process map methodology and SOPs.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU payroll legislation and compliance requirements including PAYE, NI, statutory pay, pension auto-enrolment and HMRC reporting.
- Experience managing outsourced payroll providers, including governance, reconciliations and performance monitoring.
- Proven experience of implementing and managing HR and payroll processes using Sage, Kronos and Workday.
- Demonstrable track record of leading and managing remote teams, building high performance and engagement through clear direction and accountability.
- Strong capability in process improvement, automation and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence across People, Finance, Compliance and external vendors.
- Sound understanding of employment law, GDPR and data governance.
- Commercial awareness and experience providing cost and payroll insights to senior stakeholders.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages desirable to support future expansion.
