We're looking for a People Specialist to join our People Team, supporting operational leaders across a diverse geographical region. Working closely with the Senior People Business Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering people initiatives that enhance colleague experience, support organisational growth, and enable our services to achieve outstanding outcomes.
This is a full-time permanent role to support a region from Derby down to the south coast so our ideal candidate will be based around the Midlands. However, we will consider candidates based in the south who are willing to travel. There is an expectation of regional travel as and when required and attendance at our head office in Widnes at least twice a year.

As a Trusted People Partner You'll
- Support the delivery of the Regional People Plan, helping create an engaging and inclusive employee experience.
- Experience managing an HR caseload.
- Partner with Service Leaders and operational teams to provide expert people advice, coaching, and support.
- Lead and support organisational change initiatives including restructures, acquisitions, TUPE transfers, integration projects, and service growth.
- Work collaboratively with Recruitment colleagues and operational leaders to attract, recruit, and retain great people.
- Support managers in dealing with employee relations matters, ensuring consistent and timely resolution.
- Drive workforce planning and support talent, succession, and performance management activities across the region.
- Analyse and interpret people data, providing meaningful insights and reports that support informed decision-making.
- Champion a positive culture where colleagues feel supported, developed, and empowered to succeed.
What We’re Looking For
You'll be a confident and credible HR professional with experience supporting managers across multiple sites or a large, complex organisation.
Essential Requirements
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience in a People Advisor, People Specialist, or HR Business Partnering role
- Experience supporting multiple locations or a geographically dispersed workforce
- Strong knowledge of employee relations and HR best practice
- Experience partnering with managers to identify and plan workforce needs
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into meaningful actions
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable
- Experience supporting recruitment and resourcing activity
- Experience working within a centralised HR Shared Services environment
- Experience supporting organisational change programmes
