Performance Analyst Opportunity
Are you a naturally curious analyst who loves turning data into meaningful insight?
We're recruiting a Performance Analyst to join a specialist Metropolitan Police Service team supporting the nationally recognised County Lines Programme and Operation Yamata. This is a unique opportunity to use your analytical expertise to support frontline policing, influence senior decision-making, and contribute to the fight against serious organised crime across London.
This is far more than a reporting role. You'll become a trusted partner to operational teams, helping them understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and demonstrate the real-world impact of their work to senior leaders, the Home Office, and national policing stakeholders.

Putney Bridge Police Station, SW15
Payrate
£440 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Contract
6 months - Full time Monday to Friday
Working Arrangements
3 days per week office based.
What You'll Be Doing
As the team's Performance Analyst, you'll take ownership of performance reporting, data analysis, and insight generation, ensuring operational activity is accurately recorded, understood, and communicated.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
- Analysing large datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and operational insights.
- Responding to ad-hoc analytical requests from senior stakeholders.
- Creating engaging PowerPoint presentations and management information packs.
- Monitoring data quality and investigating inconsistencies.
- Translating complex data into clear recommendations and actionable insight.
- Supporting strategic decision-making through evidence-based analysis.
- Building strong relationships with operational teams, managers, and senior leaders.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and analytical outputs.
- Developing dashboards and exploring innovative ways to present performance information.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who can quickly become a valued member of the team and confidently work with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will be:

- Most importantly, we're looking for someone who doesn't just produce reports, but actively seeks ways to add value and improve how the team uses data.
Essential Skills & Experience
You'll have experience in a Performance Analyst, Data Analyst, MI Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Insight Analyst, Commercial Analyst, or similar role.
You should be confident in:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Pivot Tables and large dataset analysis
- Data cleansing and validation
- Trend and performance analysis
- Data reconciliation across multiple sources
- Creating charts, reports, and management information packs
- Identifying anomalies and data quality issues
- Presenting findings to stakeholders and senior management
- Turning raw data into meaningful business insight
Desirable Skills
Experience with any of the following would be highly advantageous:
- SQL / Databricks SQL
- Power Query
- Power BI
- Tableau
- VBA / Macros
- Dashboard development
- Reporting automation
- Copilot or AI tools for reporting efficiency
- MDX

Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working model
- Minimum 3 days per week onsite
- Primary location: Putney Police Station (Jubilee House)
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible start and finish times
- Occasional travel to other MPS sites as required
Security Clearance
Successful applicants will be required to undergo Metropolitan Police Service vetting. Existing police clearance or transferable vetting would be advantageous, although not essential.
