Senior Content Performance Analyst - Racing & Sports Betting Media πŸ‡πŸ“Š

Pulse is partnering with a global media and technology company that sets the standard for trusted, customer-driven experiences across racing and sports betting, on a brand new role built specifically to give the editorial team the data support they've never had before. This one sits right inside the newsroom, turning audience and subscription data into decisions editors actually act on.

This is a newly created role, sitting at the heart of a subscription business where every story about what readers want needs an answer backed by evidence, not a hunch. You'll be the person who tells editors what's working, what isn't, and why, with the confidence to hold that line even when it's not what they want to hear.

This is a hands-on, embedded role for someone who wants to sit close to the journalism, not off in a reporting team three steps removed from it.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning performance analysis across every content and product format, shaping content and product strategy with deep, cross-cutting insight
  • Building analysis of user-level engagement tied to audience persona and subscription lifecycle, pinning down what actually drives acquisition, retention, and churn
  • Framing hypotheses in support of the subscriber growth plan, running the analysis and presenting a clear answer, not just a dataset
  • Working closely with senior editors and desk leaders, translating analysis into editorial recommendations and challenging assumptions with evidence
  • Feeding performance input into editorial reviews, helping decide what content and formats to stop, start, or scale
  • Using and developing AI tools to scale analysis and reporting, building systems that get insight to editors in the flow of their day
  • Owning metric definitions and safeguarding data quality, so editors can trust the numbers they're working from
  • Partnering with the Subscriptions Director to make sure performance analysis informs subscription and retention strategy as well as editorial calls

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • A track record of analysis that's changed decisions, not just reported on them
  • Practical experience using AI tools in analytical work, with a real interest in applying them to reporting and insight at scale
  • Experience with Amplitude or similar product analytics platforms, and the ability to build data literacy within a content team
  • Confidence working with senior non-technical colleagues, explaining analysis in plain language and holding a position under challenge
  • A genuine curiosity about content and audiences, and how good journalism performs
  • Publisher or content performance background, this one's non-negotiable
  • Experience in publishing, media, or another subscription business
  • Knowledge of racing and sports betting is welcome but not essential
