Job Description:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and delivery-focused Performance and Optimisation Lead to join our Asset Management team. This role is accountable for driving the commercial and operational performance of our EV charging network by turning data, insight, and performance trends into measurable improvement outcomes.
Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will play a pivotal role in owning performance visibility, identifying under-performance and value leakage, and leading optimisation initiatives that improve availability, reliability, and margin across the portfolio. The role is central to ensuring performance is actively managed against agreed KPIs, SLAs, and commercial priorities, not just reported.
Acting under delegated authority from the Asset Manager, the role also holds day-to-day accountability for the performance of our outsourced O&M contract, ensuring SLAs are met and quality is verified in the field.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the delegated day-to-day lead for the O&M contract under a formal CAM delegation.
- Serve as the primary contact for contractor operational and service management teams, maintaining a structured operating rhythm and supporting delivery against agreed service levels (SLAs), KPIs, and controllable factors.
- Partner closely with the Tech & Digital Lead manage OEMs and OEM performance — holding hardware and software manufacturers to account for reliability, defect resolution, and warranty obligations, and feeding OEM performance data into wider asset and contract decisions.
- Collaborate with the Network Commercial team to define and continuously improve internal service levels for network maintenance.
- Translate network priorities into maintenance strategies that focus resources where they deliver the greatest customer and commercial value.
- Design and implement performance management frameworks aligned with global asset strategy and regional priorities, promoting safe operations, operational excellence, and commercial outcomes.
- Define meaningful benchmarks, targets, and performance thresholds covering reliability, uptime, safety, utilisation, and financial performance.
- Establish effective performance monitoring and governance practices across internal teams and external partners.
- Facilitate regular portfolio reviews across the asset portfolio, support constructive discussions with partners, and monitor progress against improvement plans.
- Identify and address barriers to performance across the charging network, whether technical (e.g. asset failures, downtime), operational (e.g. maintenance delays), or commercial (e.g. low utilisation or site profitability vs cost-to-serve variance). Prioritise opportunities based on business impact, customer experience, and risk.
- Promote data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Build a high-performance environment across internal teams and service providers by introducing practical tools, standards, and routines that enhance execution and results.
- Use historical and current performance data to forecast future outcomes, evaluate asset strategies, and support decision-making across cost, safety, reliability, availability, and performance considerations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
