What are we looking for?
TCHC is seeking a highly motivated, passionate and results-driven Performance Coach to support the delivery of our Restart Programme, helping participants who have been out of work for six months and over to overcome barriers to employment and secure sustainable work.
Working closely with Employment Coaches (ECs), reporting to the Performance Manager and the Head of Restart, the Performance Coach will play a key role in driving performance, contributing to improving operational delivery and ensuring that contractual targets and performance expectations are consistently achieved. The role will provide first-line support, guidance and coaching to Employment Coaches as well as supporting participants. Helping the EC’s maximise participant engagement, improve outcomes and maintain a strong focus on performance and progression into employment.
The Performance Coach will be responsible for monitoring performance data, analysing trends, producing accurate reports and identifying areas for improvement across different participant cohorts. This will include reviewing individual and team performance, identifying underperformance, recognising opportunities for growth and implementing targeted interventions to improve results. The role requires a proactive and analytical approach, with the ability to translate performance data into clear actions that drive measurable improvements.
Working across a diverse range of participant cohorts, the Performance Coach will support Employment Coaches to tailor their approach to individual needs, address complex barriers to employment and ensure participants receive appropriate, effective and timely support. This will include reviewing caseloads, monitoring participant action plans, strengthening participant engagement and ensuring work-focused activities are aligned with individual circumstances and the overall objective of achieving sustainable employment.
In addition to supporting the wider team, the Performance Coach will manage their own caseload of participants, conducting diagnostic assessments, developing personalised action plans, identifying transferable skills and coordinating appropriate interventions to improve employability, confidence and job readiness.
This is a highly target-driven and competitive role, requiring an individual who thrives in a performance-focused environment, takes ownership of results and is motivated to exceed expectations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical and communication skills, alongside the ability to challenge constructively, motivate others and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance.
Ultimately, the Performance Coach will act as a key link between frontline delivery and senior operational leadership, ensuring that Employment Coaches are supported, performance is closely managed, different participant cohorts receive effective support and TCHC consistently delivers high-quality outcomes against Restart contractual requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
