The job:
As part of our continued growth and transformation journey, we're looking for a Performance Data Analyst to join our Transformation and Organisational Effectiveness function. This role will establish the evidence needed to understand how effectively the business is operating and whether improvement activity is delivering the intended outcomes.
The role will bring together delivery and operational data, including information held in Azure DevOps, and turn it into clear, trusted insight through Power BI. Working across the organisation, you'll define measures, improve data quality, create repeatable reporting and help leaders and teams use performance information to make better decisions.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Building a clear view of performance - You'll work with stakeholders to define meaningful measures across productivity, throughput, quality, predictability, rework and benefits realisation.
- Extracting and preparing data - You'll query Azure DevOps and other agreed data sources, combine and transform data, and create reliable datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Developing Power BI reporting - You'll design, build and maintain accessible dashboards that show trends, exceptions, progress against targets and areas requiring attention.
- Turning data into insight - You'll interpret patterns, investigate variance and explain what the data means, helping teams move from reporting activity to taking action.
- Strengthening measurement discipline - You'll define data standards, calculation logic, ownership and reporting routines so measures are consistent, transparent and trusted.
- Supporting transformation and continuous improvement - You'll baseline current performance, track outcomes and provide evidence to prioritise and evaluate improvement activity across Catalyst and wider business initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
