About The Role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who has a passion for data quality and getting things right first time. You will be proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities while working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment. The role requires someone who enjoys investigating issues, maintaining high standards, and ensuring information is accurate, complete, and reliable.

As a Performance Data Quality Assistant, you will be at the heart of maintaining high-quality performance data for the SWR and NR Wessex Integrated Business Unit. You will carry out system checks, monitor compliance with industry standards and business processes, and help ensure essential operational information is accurately recorded and maintained.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will identify and resolve data quality issues, support reporting processes and contribute to delivering a reliable and efficient railway for our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitoring compliance with performance data standards and business processes.
- Conducting system checks to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Managing the missing reports process and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting the validation of operational performance incidents.
- Assisting with data administration activities to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance data quality and processes.
Salary: Band 6 / £29,000-£35,409
Location: Basingstoke Rail Operating Centre
Performance Related Pay Scheme
This is a full-time permanent position.
This role requires working in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

Your Experience And Skills
What you'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is motivated, organised and enjoys working with data.
Essential
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Strong IT skills and confidence working with data and systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise work and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the railway operating environment.
- Understanding of South Western Railway business structures.
- Experience of performance reporting systems.
- A customer-focused approach.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist performance team and gain valuable experience in railway operations. You will play an important role in ensuring the quality of information that supports operational decisions and helps deliver a safe, reliable and efficient railway.
