Job Purpose
At Asset Operations, we believe data is more than just numbers, it's the key to unlocking better performance and delivering meaningful outcomes. As a Insight Lead (Power BI), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we measure, track and improve performance across the business.
Working within an established and forward-thinking team, you'll help design, develop and embed performance metrics, KPIs and reporting solutions that support strategic decision making. Going beyond dashboard creation, you'll work with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define meaningful measures of success and translate complex requirements into data-driven solutions that drive action.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence how performance is understood across Asset Operations, helping teams move beyond reporting what happened to identifying future risks, opportunities and areas for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop and maintain impactful Power BI dashboards and visual reports that enable data-driven decision making.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand performance objectives, reporting requirements and desired outcomes.
- Challenge and refine requirements to ensure the right metrics, KPIs and measures are being developed.
- Partner with Data and Governance teams to ensure reporting solutions are built on trusted, high-quality data.
- Develop and embed performance frameworks that support strategic goals across Asset Operations.
- Analyse trends, patterns and anomalies to identify insights, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate performance reviews and discussions, helping teams understand the story behind the data and identify appropriate actions.
- Translate complex datasets into clear visualisations and practical recommendations that drive performance.
- Manage multiple stakeholder priorities while delivering reporting solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end reporting lifecycle, from requirement gathering and solution design through to development and deployment.
- Explore innovative approaches, including AI-enabled tools and analytics, to enhance insight generation and performance reporting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
