Water System Performance Leakage Analyst

This is a maternity cover up to 12 months.

You will be responsible to provide excellent service to Thames Water customers, through the effective operation and maintenance of the Water Network.

This is a technical role that requires issuing, briefing field teams and then subsequently analysing data (flow and pressure) that will be delivered by a multi-skilled field team.

The successful candidates will be employed to undertake a series of tasks from routine investigations through to complex investigations, seeing all work through to resolution.

Hours and Location

36 hours per week, 3 days in the office, 2 days at home.

You will be based at Ashford Common (WTW) - TW15 1RU.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Timely completion of risk assessments required for the work impacting the clean water network, for example, the repair of leaks, the operation of assets on the network, and reconfiguration of the clean water network.
  • Evaluate and analyse operational information, understanding data integrity difficulties, to resolve basic and more complex problems.
  • Assist with analysis of long-term network issues such as leakage, loss of pressure, low flows, area integrity, network resilience.
  • Working with the field team to problem-solve and resolve operational issues, utilizing the relevant flow and pressure data to prove anomalies.
  • Ensure all network operations follow current signed-off Asset Management Procedures and that the Risk Assessment process is properly implemented and monitored in a timely fashion.
  • Sufficient work is planned for the night resource, allowing the team to remain productive throughout the working week.
  • Risk assessments are in place and approved by responsible engineers, where required.
  • Work packs are available and shared with the field team, ensuring clarity for work to be successfully delivered as planned.
  • Working alongside the Leakage and System Optimisation teams to ensure priority focus is in the correct areas.

What You Should Bring to the Role

  • The successful candidate will be a degree-educated graduate in a suitable discipline like Engineering or will possess relevant practical industry experience of working within a water network or leakage environment.
  • It is essential that the candidate possesses good analytical, problem solving, negotiating skills, and extreme willingness to learn and work hard to drive their career within Thames Water.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate company IT systems and office software.
