Role Overview
Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career; with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.
Where Will You Be Working?
At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.
We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.
Private Networks:
- We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems.
- With 24/7 national operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network or service management repair and maintenance to keep everything running operationally.
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused Performance Manager to join our National Operations Centre team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. This is a pivotal role within our 24/7 operation, where you'll take the lead in maintaining operational control, coordinating service delivery, and supporting a high-performing team.
Working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, you'll rotate between day shifts (6:45am - 7:15pm) and night shifts (6:45pm - 7:15am), ensuring our services and customers remain supported around the clock. If you thrive in a fast-paced operational environment, enjoy leading people, and can confidently manage priorities under pressure, we'd love to hear from you.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Performance Manager, you'll be responsible for keeping our operation running smoothly during your shift while providing leadership and support to a dedicated team. You'll oversee the live operational picture, coordinate incidents and escalations, manage risks, and ensure that priorities are clearly understood and actioned. You'll lead effective shift handovers, use operational data to identify trends and improvements, and work closely with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to maintain service excellence. Alongside operational leadership, you'll play a key role in developing your team through coaching, performance management, wellbeing support, and creating an inclusive environment where colleagues feel empowered to succeed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
