Performance Manager
Salary: £39,590 per annum
Location: England, based at one of several regional offices
Working Arrangement: Hybrid, with flexible working options available
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Overview
Our client, a national public body responsible for protecting and promoting the historic environment, is seeking a Performance Manager to lead its corporate performance framework.
The role will ensure organisational performance is clearly defined, monitored consistently and communicated effectively. The successful candidate will lead the development of key performance indicators and a balanced scorecard, provide insight and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders, and produce high-quality reporting for executive, governance and government audiences.
This is a strategic role focused on turning performance data into meaningful insight that strengthens decision-making and supports continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the organisation’s corporate performance framework.
- Define, maintain and improve key performance indicators.
- Manage and develop the organisational balanced scorecard.
- Monitor corporate performance and identify emerging risks, trends and areas for improvement.
- Produce clear, high-quality reports for executive leaders, governance committees and the organisation’s sponsoring government department.
- Translate complex performance data into meaningful strategic insight.
- Provide constructive challenge and advice to senior stakeholders.
- Contribute directly to strategic discussions and organisational decision-making.
- Strengthen data-led approaches to performance management.
- Promote innovation, continuous improvement and effective practice across the organisation.

Requirements
- Experience leading corporate performance frameworks or performance-reporting functions.
- Demonstrable experience developing and managing key performance indicators.
- Strong analytical and data-interpretation skills.
- Ability to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- Experience producing strategic reports and communicating complex information clearly.
- Experience driving improvement, innovation or effective practice.
