Our Mission

At Ophelos, we believe in a different way to deal with debt. One that puts empathy and understanding front and centre, approaching our customers as individuals — no matter what they’re going through.

For too long, people in debt have borne the brunt of poor industry practices. Intimidating tactics, time-consuming customer service and a one-size-fits-all approach that overlooks the reasons anyone can fall into debt in the first place. Meanwhile, businesses suffer too. Poor customer experience translates to poor customer satisfaction, high churn rates, bad brand reputation and ultimately missed opportunities.

That’s why we’re taking a radically different approach. Pioneering an industry-first AI-native collections platform, we build products that help individuals clear their debts in a way that suits them, whilst providing businesses with an improved customer experience and game-changing insights into their customer base.

Since our launch in 2021, we’ve worked with some of the UK’s leading companies, including Octopus, Scottish Power and Philips — helping millions of people move toward a more stable, debt-free future. In 2023, we were acquired by Intrum, Europe’s biggest credit management service and have begun the next phase in our growth — expansion into 17 European markets over the next two years.

About the Role

Ophelos is growing its commercial capability and looking for a Performance Marketing Manager or Senior Performance Marketing Manager to drive lead generation for Intrum. This is a net-new, green-field role where you will have the chance to build a performance marketing function from the ground up within an already established business, combining the cutting-edge feel of a tech company with the scale and legacy of a major brand.

You will be focused on driving qualified leads into Intrum across our current markets in the UK, France, and Portugal, with expansion into two or three additional markets early next year. While local marketing teams provide support on content and translation for regional relevance, you will own the strategy and execution behind outbound email campaigns, webinars, events, and other lead-driven initiatives.

This is a heavily data-driven role that sits at the intersection of campaign execution, analytics, and commercial growth. You'll spend your time designing marketing funnels, analysing performance metrics, and independently verifying that your campaigns are delivering real, measurable pipeline conversion.

What You'll Do

  • Drive lead generation across core markets: Build and execute outbound email campaigns, webinars, and events targeted at generating high-quality leads across the UK, France, Portugal, and expanding European markets.
  • Design and optimise the marketing funnel: Translate commercial targets into structured marketing funnels, identifying drop-off points, refining conversion paths, and ensuring every campaign is optimised for pipeline impact.
  • Analyse performance and verify success: Dive deep into campaign data to independently verify what is working, track performance metrics rigorously, and tie marketing outputs directly to qualified leads and pipeline progression.
  • Establish the performance marketing function: Take ownership of a green-field space with very little existing performance marketing infrastructure, putting your own imprint on the function and setting it up for long-term scale.
  • Scale and mature the function: Move from initial proof-of-concept over the first six months into scaling the function over the next year, bringing new products and propositions to market and eventually collaborating with direct reports, contractors, and agencies.
  • Leverage AI tooling for accelerated growth: Work in an AI-first environment with the freedom to explore AI tools and develop your expertise within a flexible, forward-thinking team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About You

You're a data-driven marketer who cares far more about tangible pipeline conversion and qualified leads than wishy-washy brand metrics. You know how to build a marketing funnel from scratch, analyse the metrics that actually matter, and prove independently that your work is delivering commercial results.

You'll likely have:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in performance marketing, demand generation, or growth roles
  • A strong track record of driving qualified leads and demonstrating clear numbers around pipeline conversion
  • Deep expertise in building marketing funnels and analysing performance metrics
  • A rigorous, independent approach to verifying campaign success rather than relying on vanity metrics
  • The ability to thrive in a green-field environment where you can build, test, and iterate quickly
  • Comfort collaborating across international markets, working alongside local teams to ensure campaigns resonate

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working in the debt management, fintech, or credit spaces
  • A strong aversion to legacy, slow-moving marketing playbooks in favour of agile, data-led growth

Why This Role

This is a rare opportunity to come into an established organisation and build a performance marketing function entirely from scratch. You get the best of both worlds: the autonomy and modern tooling of a tech-forward environment (including free use of AI tools to support your professional development) combined with the stability and reach of a major global parent company.

Over the first 18 months, you will take the function from proof-of-concept to rapid scaling as new products and propositions launch, with a clear trajectory toward building and leading your own team. If you want freedom, flexibility, and a blank canvas to make a measurable commercial impact, this is the role for you.
