This role will work with the Performance Marketing Manager and wider Digital Marketing team in the creation, execution, and optimisation of Primark's performance marketing activity across Google Ads, product feed management, and programmatic media. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys using data, technology, and automation to drive performance.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and optimisation of Google Ads activity, product feed operations, and programmatic campaigns, working closely with internal stakeholders, agency partners, and technology providers to maximise performance and identify new growth opportunities.

What You’ll Do as a Performance Marketing Specialist

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Own the day-to-day management, optimisation, and reporting of Google Ads activity across Shopping, Performance Max, Search, App, and YouTube campaigns
  • Manage campaign budgets, performance targets, and optimisation roadmaps, ensuring activity is aligned to business objectives and commercial priorities
  • Partner with the Performance Marketing Manager to help shape the strategic direction of performance marketing activity, identifying priorities and opportunities for future growth
  • Lead product feed management and optimisation through ProductsUp, ensuring product data is accurate, enriched, and structured to maximise performance across marketing channels
  • Work closely with internal teams to identify feed enhancement opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and improve product visibility and campaign effectiveness
  • Own Google Merchant Center operations, ensuring compliance, feed health, and timely resolution of product disapprovals and warnings
  • Partner with agency and technology providers to drive continuous improvement across Google Ads, ProductsUp, and programmatic activity
  • Support the planning, activation, and optimisation of programmatic campaigns through Epsilon and other media partners
  • Identify and deliver testing opportunities to improve campaign performance and drive ongoing channel growth
  • Monitor campaign performance daily, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for optimisation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and technology partners to support feed enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and improve product visibility and campaign effectiveness
  • Report on campaign performance, tests, and experiments, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the business
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests, providing clear analysis and recommendations to the wider Media team
  • Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting frameworks to improve visibility of performance marketing activity
  • Stay on top of emerging trends, AI capabilities, platform updates, and new opportunities within Google, feed management, and programmatic advertising
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across Digital, Analytics, Technology, Trade, and Creative teams
  • Support budget management, forecasting, and invoice processing as required
  • Other duties and requirements as required by the business

What You’ll Bring

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course, with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:

  • 5+ years' minimum experience in performance marketing, with strong hands-on experience managing Google Ads campaigns
  • Strong understanding of Google Ads including Shopping, Performance Max, Search, YouTube, Demand Gen, and App campaigns
  • Experience managing product feeds and feed optimisation platforms such as ProductsUp, DataFeedWatch, Feedonomics, or similar technologies
  • Experience working with Google Merchant Center and resolving feed quality and product data issues
  • Understanding of programmatic advertising principles and experience working with DSPs, media agencies, or programmatic partners
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations
  • Experience using Google Analytics 4 or similar reporting and analytics tools
  • Commercially focused with a strong understanding of performance marketing KPIs
  • Experience managing testing frameworks and delivering insights from experiments and optimisation initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects within a fast-paced retail environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to present insights and recommendations clearly
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Passion for digital marketing, ecommerce, retail, and emerging marketing technologies
