Job Function:
Chelsea FC Women are seeking an exceptional Performance Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join our Performance Support Team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an elite, multidisciplinary environment where player health, availability, readiness and long-term performance are at the heart of everything we do.
You will play a key role in delivering and evolving our performance rehabilitation programme, leading the management of injured players and supporting their return to training and competition. Working closely with coaches, doctors and performance specialists, you will help create robust rehabilitation pathways that not only return players to play, but enable them to thrive when they do. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within one of the world's leading women's football environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver high-quality rehabilitation programmes for Women's First Team players, supporting their safe and effective return to performance.
- Manage injured players through assessment, rehabilitation planning, monitoring and return-to-play processes in collaboration with the medical and performance teams.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Chelsea FC Women's rehabilitation frameworks, protocols and performance support practices.
- Work collaboratively with coaches, doctors and multidisciplinary staff to optimise player availability, readiness and long-term performance.
- Support injury prevention, workload management and player resilience strategies.
- Analyse and utilise player health and performance data to inform rehabilitation and performance decisions.
- Contribute to Integrated Practice delivery and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and professional excellence across the Performance Support Team.

What we are looking for:
Experience
- Experience working as a Physiotherapist within elite sport, professional football or a high-performance environment.
- Proven track record of managing player rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes.
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary medical and performance teams.
- Knowledge of injury prevention, workload management and athlete development.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent clinical reasoning and rehabilitation planning skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to make evidence-based decisions in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Organised, proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for supporting player health, development and performance.
