Job Description

Could you lead the programme that helps talented student athletes reach their potential? We're looking for a Performance Services Manager to head up strength and conditioning, performance support services and coaching across Leeds Beckett's performance sport programmes.

Beckett Sport delivers sport and physical activity for students, colleagues and the wider Leeds community, from recreational sessions right through to performance sport. Our performance offer supports athletes on our Focus Sports, University Sport Scholarship, TASS and Talent Hub programmes, backed by a dedicated team of S&C coaches, physiotherapy and specialist coaching staff.

Reporting to the Head of Beckett Sport, you'll lead a team that includes our Performance Sport Co-ordinator, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Performance Sport Physiotherapist, Rugby Programme Manager and Head Coach Netball. You will:

  • Lead and develop our S&C and support services, making sure athletes get high-quality individual and group programmes across a range of sports and training environments.
  • Work closely with the sports medicine team to manage, treat and prevent injuries.
  • Manage our external partnerships, including TASS, UKAD Clean Sport, National Governing Bodies and local professional clubs, and represent Beckett Sport internally and externally.
  • Build strong links with academic and research colleagues to create placements, mentoring and vocational learning that improve our students' employability.
  • Plan and manage budgets, review services against best practice and act on customer feedback, deputising for the Head of Beckett Sport when needed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
