Job Description

The Performance Strategy & Innovation Managing Partner is OMD UK’s senior authority on performance strategy. The role defines what performance means for the agency, turns that vision into distinctive and scalable propositions, and elevates performance from channel delivery and reporting into a strategic growth agenda for CMOs.

The Role Covers Seven Core Areas

  • Craft: Define OMD UK’s future-facing performance proposition and develop repeatable strategic frameworks.
  • Client Builder: Strengthen C-suite relationships and lead high-value client growth and transformation.
  • Commercial: Convert strategy, innovation and partnerships into increased client investment, revenue and agency income.
  • Connector: Integrate performance with planning, strategy, measurement, data, technology and commerce.
  • Innovation: Turn capabilities such as AI Optix, GEO, Omni and experimentation into practical, scalable client propositions.
  • Leadership: Build agency capability, coach emerging leaders and make performance expertise less dependent on one individual.
  • Influence: Strengthen OMD UK’s external profile through thought leadership, industry participation and influential partnerships.

What We Need

  • Deep expertise in performance media, with the breadth to connect activation, planning, measurement, data, technology, commerce and brand growth.
  • A record of defining and commercialising propositions—not only delivering existing capabilities—including successful adoption across multiple clients.
  • Credibility with CMOs and senior business leaders, with the ability to translate technical and channel complexity into clear strategic choices.
  • Demonstrable commercial impact through organic growth, new business, client transformation and partner development.
  • Strong understanding of the changing performance ecosystem, including AI-enabled search and discovery, experimentation, retail media and commerce.
  • Proven leadership across multidisciplinary teams and organisational boundaries, with the influence to create alignment without relying on direct authority.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills, with a distinctive and practical point of view.
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge constructively and make decisions in ambiguity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Alongside these functional responsibilities, the role carries broader Agency Leadership expectations as Board member. This means prioritising agency-wide outcomes over functional interests, contributing actively to OMD’s strategy, demonstrating collective commercial accountability, shaping culture, championing inclusion, developing talent and improving how the agency operates.

Success would be demonstrated through a clearly adopted performance proposition; stronger CMO-level client narratives; leadership of major growth and transformation initiatives; increased revenue and investment; adoption of AI Optix, Omni and other priority products; effective cross-agency integration; development of emerging leaders; external market impact; and visible contribution to OMD UK’s wider strategic, cultural and commercial priorities.
