From Business Analysts in large government organisations to Software Developers in the private sector – we are always in search of the best talent to place, now.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer to join a major technology transformation environment, working on complex, high-profile platforms where scalability, resilience and reliability are critical.
You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering performance testing strategies across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments. Working closely with developers, architects and wider engineering teams, you’ll identify performance bottlenecks, analyse system behaviour and help ensure applications and services can perform effectively under significant load.
This is a hands-on performance engineering role where you’ll have the opportunity to work with modern performance testing, observability, cloud and containerisation technologies while helping to develop and improve the wider performance engineering approach.
Responsibilities:
- Design, execute and analyse performance, load, stress and volume tests against complex applications and platforms.
- Develop performance testing strategies and define Non-Functional Requirements.
- Identify system bottlenecks and investigate complex performance issues, providing clear and actionable recommendations.
- Use monitoring and observability tooling including Grafana and Splunk to understand system performance and behaviour.
- Utilise diagnostic and Application Performance Monitoring tools such as New Relic and Dynatrace to investigate performance issues.
- Work closely with developers, architects and engineering teams to troubleshoot performance and scalability problems.
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Eggplant Performance and Gatling.
- Use scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript for test automation and data analysis.
- Conduct performance testing across cloud-based architectures including Azure, AWS and GCP.
- Support performance engineering across containerised environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and drive continuous improvements to testing processes.
- Communicate performance findings, risks and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
