Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner (Cheshire East)

Role Overview

The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the effective provision of Perinatal Mental and Infant Mental Health Services to an identified caseload of women. The core purpose of the team in which the post-holder will work, is to deliver high quality, tailored interventions in maternal mental health and attachment based approaches to mothers and infants. The service will have a key role in raising the profile and standards of mental health care for expectant and newly delivered mothers across universal and specialist services.

Qualifications

We welcome applicants with a core professional qualification such as Nurses, Social Workers, Midwives, Occupational Therapists.

Location and Work Arrangements

This post is to caseload hold in the Cheshire East patch of our service but there will be some working across the CWP footprint. We will consider applicants who wish to work full time, part time and condensed hours (flexible working).

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload of women with diagnoses of moderate - severe mental health difficulties in the perinatal period.
• Complete initial assessments for women referred into the perinatal service.
• To be duty practitioner on a rota basis.
• Contribute to MDT meetings to ensure effective plans and interventions can be established for women referred into the perinatal service.
• Contribute to the team's engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including staff, women/birthing people and their families, their carers and other statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
• Liaise with a wide range of other professionals.
• Ensure equality of access to services for all women, paying particular attention to diversity issues and women from hard to reach groups.
• Be responsible for planning and co-ordinating own day to day workload in collaboration with the needs of women and their families and the wider needs of the service.
