About The Role
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and looking to develop your career within a theatre environment? We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Support Worker (Theatres) to join our multidisciplinary team at Practice Plus Group Portsmouth.
In this varied and rewarding role, you'll support patients throughout their surgical journey while helping to ensure our theatre department runs safely, efficiently, and compassionately. The role is primarily based within Theatres but may also support Outpatients, Endoscopy, and Ward areas when required.
This role is offering part-time hours 28.5 per week (3 x 9.5 hours shifts, Mon - Friday) on a rolling rota basis.

What you'll be doing
- Supporting patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
- Assisting with patient preparation, theatre set-up, equipment checks, and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment.
- Handling and transporting clinical specimens, maintaining accurate documentation, and following infection prevention procedures.
- Working closely with nursing, surgical, and anaesthetic teams to help deliver excellent patient outcomes.
- Developing your skills through training and competency-based development opportunities.
What we'll look for in you
- Experience in a healthcare, care, support worker, or customer-facing environment.
- A caring, patient-focused approach with a commitment to dignity, confidentiality, and high standards of care.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible and reliable attitude, with the willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training.
- Previous experience within a theatre, surgical, or clinical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
