Perioperative Practitioner – Scrub General/Orthopaedics | Theatres | Manchester

37.5 hours a week | Permanent | Outstanding CQC rating

Spire Manchester Hospital is looking for enthusiastic and experienced Theatre Practitioners to join our expanding theatre team. We have opportunities available for practitioners with experience across General Surgery and/or Orthopaedic Scrub, supporting a varied and dynamic caseload within our state-of-the-art hospital.

As part of our highly skilled theatre team, you will work alongside experienced consultants delivering exceptional patient care across a range of specialties. Whether your background is primarily in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, or a combination of both, we'd love to hear from you.

Spire Manchester Hospital is a £65m state-of-the-art healthcare facility offering you the opportunity to work across a wide variety of specialisms. The Manchester team currently consists of over 800 colleagues, and we are rapidly expanding as we increase the scope of services we provide across our experienced and dynamic teams.

  • Provide high-quality scrub support across a range of surgical procedures.
  • Support General Surgery and Orthopaedic lists, including major joint replacements where appropriate.
  • Assist in assessing, planning and delivering individualised patient care.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection prevention and clinical governance.
  • Contribute to service improvements and the ongoing development of theatre practices.

Who we're looking for:

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
  • Previous Scrub experience within a theatre environment.
  • Experience in General Surgery and/or Orthopaedics.
  • Experience supporting elective surgical procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A positive, patient-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
