About The Role

Days of Working

Tuesday to Friday - 07:30 to 16:30

Job Purpose

To fulfil the coordination & control of all on site permitting functions for all self-delivered and sub-contracted works. Ensuring that all Health & Safety and operational requirements are always adhered to. Regular monitoring of permitted activities to ensure they are fulfilling the specification of the works, and all site rules and regulations are adhered to. Responsibility for ensuring all maintenance records is processed in line with the operating system and works signed off on completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the contractor diary, ensuring full communication to relevant parties.
  • Ensure compliance with MOS processes and policies in relation to permitted works.
  • Assist in the support, as SME advisor on all permit process related topics.
  • Work closely with the M&E supervisor & Lead Engineers to ensure safe coordination of works on site.
  • Ensure CDM Regulations and requirements are adhered to when planning work activities.
  • Carry out regular monitoring of activities under the provision of the permit to ensure all aspects are being adhered to.
  • Be able to support with any site audits.
  • Be able to support with assessments of contractors for the contract.
  • Attend client/customer meetings as and when required.
  • Forge professional working relationships with both the Internal & client team.
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures, ensuring the requirements of Health and Safety at Work act and Environmental legislation are met at all times and records maintained.
  • Support with H&S training delivered on site to ensure the needs of the learners are being met by quality and in date/relevant training modules such as contractor management.
  • Support with incident management and reporting when required.
  • Support with toolbox talks.
  • Support the Extra Works Manager as required with any additional requirements required.
  • Take prompt action to correct any shortfalls which may be reported by either the client or from company quality audits.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and drive efficiencies.
  • Carry out housekeeping tours and safety observation reporting.
  • Ensure asset management processes are adhered to, and service sheets filed in log books, recording any remedial actions where necessary.
  • Work alongside the site AP’s and central Technical Team.

Essential Criteria

  • M&E Technical bias qualification/experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in the management of sub-contractors and permit processes.
  • SMSTS.
  • Temporary Works Management.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Excellent organisation, communication & IT skills.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations/CDM Awareness.
