Job title: Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator

Location: Talacre, North Wales
Contract: 2 Years Outside IR35
Requirements: 5.5 days per week onsite

Purpose of the Position

As a Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator within the HSE team, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all PTW systems. You will be trained and authorised to coordinate the permit process, identifying potential conflicts between work activities based on location and timing. You will manage the PTW office, chair daily PTW coordination meetings, and support our Decommissioning and Carbon Capture Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess permit requests.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of site areas covered by permit requests.
  • Collaborate with Area Authorities, Performing Authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all supporting Control of Work documentation (isolations, gas testing certificates, exclusion drawings, P&IDs, etc.) is valid, implemented, and correctly referenced.
  • Issue and authorise permits.
  • Coordinate with principal contractors, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and maintain oversight of site activities.
  • Monitor active permits to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and assess workplace hazards.
  • Manage permit close-outs.
  • Maintain the permit register.
  • Conduct audits and compliance monitoring of the PTW system.
  • Ensure effective permit control and coordination of all site activities.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a PTW Coordinator, PTW Officer, or in a similar Permit to Work role within the Oil & Gas industry.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Permit to Work and Control of Work systems.
  • Experience managing simultaneous operations (SIMOPS).
  • Knowledge of isolation procedures, gas testing, and associated safety documentation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a high-risk operational environment.
