About The Role
Balfour Beatty is looking for an organised and proactive Permitting Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in coordinating streetworks activities, ensuring permits are managed effectively and all works comply with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
Working closely with operational teams, clients, and local authorities, you'll help minimise disruption, maintain safety standards, and support the successful delivery of highway maintenance activities.
What you'll be doing
- Managing day-to-day permit applications and variations through the Confirm system.
- Coordinating permit extensions, early starts, and other permit modifications.
- Liaising with supervisors and operational teams to ensure permits are updated accurately and on time.
- Reviewing planned works using Causeway One Network to identify conflicts and collaboration opportunities.
- Ensuring work descriptions, locations, and associated documentation are accurate and compliant.
- Monitoring permit performance against KPIs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reviewing Section 74 notices, Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs), and failed inspections, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
- Maintaining system dashboards and ensuring all records remain current and accurate.
- Building strong working relationships with Lincolnshire County Council and other stakeholders.
- Supporting a culture of Zero Harm and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Who we're looking for
Essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative to manage workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Understanding of business processes and safe systems of work.
- Experience working on a highways maintenance contract.

Desirable
- Experience using Confirm and/or Workzone.
- Experience within a construction or infrastructure environment.
- Knowledge of NRSWA requirements and compliance processes.
