3 Months Contract with a Local Authority
Umbrella - £24.00 per hour - Umbrella
Job Purpose
As a Personal Advisor, you will work within the Leaving Care Service, supporting young people transitioning from care into adulthood. You will provide advice, guidance, and practical support to help care leavers achieve positive outcomes in areas such as housing, education, employment, finances, health, and independence.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Manage a caseload of young people leaving care.
- Assess needs and deliver tailored support and intervention plans.
- Develop, review and update Pathway Plans.
- Support young people with housing, education, employment, and training opportunities.
- Assist care leavers in managing finances and budgeting.
- Carry out visits to homes and other community settings.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports.
- Attend reviews, meetings, case conferences, and planning meetings.
- Work collaboratively with Children's Social Care, education, health, and partner agencies.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of vulnerable young people.
- Support young people to develop independence and life skills.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with legislation, policies, and procedures.

Essential Experience Required
- Previous experience working with Care Leavers, Young People, Children in Care or Leaving Care Services.
- Experience managing a caseload.
- Knowledge of the Children Act and Leaving Care legislation.
- Experience carrying out assessments and support planning.
- Strong report writing and record keeping skills.
- Experience working within Children's Social Care or Early Help services.
- Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working with multi-agency professionals and services.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Additional Information to Note
- Working Hours: 37 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday.
- 09:00 - 17:30
- Sand Martin House / Chauffeurs Cottage, Peterborough.
- Hybrid Working.
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Experience within Leaving Care Services highly desirable.
- We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.
