Role Description
The Personal Assistant will provide on-site support to clients in Chesterfield, England helping them maintain independence and quality of life in their own homes. This full or part-time role involves assisting with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication prompts, along with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, and meal preparation. The Personal Assistant will offer companionship through conversation, shared activities, and support with local outings or walks, and may contribute to the wellbeing of clients living with dementia by following individualized care plans and safety practices. The role includes accurately recording care delivered, communicating changes in client needs to supervisors, and collaborating with families and colleagues to ensure consistent, person-centered support.

- Experience in personal care and daily living support, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and basic medication reminders.
- Ability to provide companionship and emotional support, including engaging in conversation, shared activities, and maintaining client wellbeing.
- Skills in domestic support such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and running local errands.
- Awareness of dementia care principles, with the ability to follow individualized care plans and safety guidelines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a respectful, patient, and person-centered approach to care.
- Reliability in timekeeping and documentation, including accurate record-keeping and reporting of any changes in client needs.
- Ability to work on-site in client homes, including safe manual handling and adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Previous experience in homecare, domiciliary care, or a similar support role is beneficial; relevant care certifications or training are an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for local visits is preferred.
