Personal Assistant to the Bishop of Brixworth

The Diocese of Peterborough is looking for an organised, thoughtful and proactive Personal Assistant to support the Bishop of Brixworth.

This is a varied and trusted role at the heart of the Bishop’s Office. You will provide high-quality executive and administrative support, helping the Bishop to serve parishes, clergy and lay leaders across the Diocese and fulfil his wider responsibilities effectively.

You will manage a busy diary, coordinate meetings and church visits, prepare papers and briefings, track actions and handle correspondence with care and discretion. You will also help ensure that enquiries are directed to the right diocesan team and that information is organised, accessible and kept up to date.

The role includes supporting the Bishop’s responsibilities as Sponsoring Bishop for ordinands and Chair of the Peterborough Diocese Board of Education. This will involve coordinating meetings, correspondence and papers, maintaining confidential records and working closely with ordinands, education colleagues, training institutions and diocesan teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
