Personal Assistant / Support Worker – Overnight Shifts
Location: York
Hours: 12 hour overnight shift, every two weeks / twice a month
Pay: £12.71 per hour
We are looking for a kind, reliable and flexible Personal Assistant / Support Worker to provide overnight support for a 7-year-old boy at our home in York.

- Preparing snacks and drinks between tea time and bedtime
- Personal care, including helping with toileting, dressing for bed, and bath time
- Supporting the bedtime routine and helping him to settle to sleep
- Staying awake overnight to provide reassurance and care if he wakes (he may sometimes stay awake for long periods)
Essential Skills & Qualities
- Patience and a fun, engaging approach
- Willingness to ask for help when needed
- Understanding of autism and pica
- Flexibility in approach

Desirable Skills
- Makaton Level 2–4
- Experience working with disabled children
- Experience working with non-speaking children, especially using a total communication approach
Requirements
- Basic DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two references
