The Social Lift

The Social Lift is a Manchester-based personal branding consultancy run by Maria, Founder and Director and Ben, Co-Founder of The Social Lift. We help B2B founders turn quiet expertise into recognised authority, through a monthly retainer that covers strategy, content, design and reporting.

We’re building a small bench of trusted freelancers ahead of new client launches, and we’re looking for a personal brand manager who can shape how a founder shows up online and make them sound like the best version of themselves, wherever they post.

Join The Social Lift’s freelance talent network

  • Location: Remote, UK based
  • Type: Freelance, ongoing
  • Rate: £20 an hour (£160 a day)
  • Time: Around 3 to 4 days a month per founder, more in the first month
  • Start: As new clients sign, from late 2026, early 2027

The role

You’ll own the personal brand of two or three founders at a time. LinkedIn is usually the anchor, but you’ll also shape how each founder shows up on Instagram, TikTok, newsletters and beyond, depending on where their audience is. That means getting under the skin of how each founder thinks and talks, then turning calls, voice notes and half-formed ideas into content that sounds like them and reaches the right people. Maria, the Founder of The Social Lift sets the strategy with you and reviews everything before it reaches the client.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you’ll do

  • Interview each founder at the start to capture their story, opinions and way of speaking
  • Work with Maria to define each founder’s positioning, content pillars and the channels that matter for them
  • Rebuild their profiles in month one, starting with LinkedIn and extending to their other channels
  • Write and plan content across each founder’s channels: LinkedIn posts, Instagram captions and carousels, short-form video scripts and newsletters
  • Handle daily engagement in the founder’s voice: thoughtful comments, replies and community building
  • Brief our designer on carousels and graphics
  • Spot wider opportunities to raise the founder’s profile, such as podcast guest spots, speaking slots and awards
  • Track what performs on each channel and bring ideas to the monthly strategy call
  • Turn around edits quickly after Maria’s review and client feedback

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience managing personal brands or ghostwriting for founders, executives or public figures
  • Hands-on experience with LinkedIn plus at least one of Instagram, TikTok or a newsletter platform
  • The ability to write in someone else’s voice, and to notice when something doesn’t sound like them
  • Confidence with B2B subjects such as SaaS, professional services and finance, turning expertise into plain English
  • Excellent UK English and clean, tight copy
  • A current understanding of how each platform works: hooks, formats and what each feed rewards
  • Reliability: you hit deadlines without being chased
