About the Role
If you're an experienced lawyer who is passionate about Personal Immigration, we want to hear from you. This is a unique opportunity to put your expertise to the test in a challenging and progressive environment that puts peoples individual needs first. The role offers a hybrid working model with the option of either our London or Nottingham office.
Responsibilities and Skills
- An interest and passion for immigration law
- An ability to maintain a professional approach at all times
- An affinity with computer packages and willingness to embrace new technology
- A clear and concise writing style that communicates effectively and professionally
- A strong understanding of complex legal issues
- Responsibility for own varied case load
- An ability to learn new and developing areas of immigration law independently
- No record of adverse findings by regulatory bodies
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise deadlines and self-manage workloads effectively
- Ability to articulate complex information in a manner that clients can easily understand
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to pick out important details
- Strong attention to detail with the awareness of the importance of accuracy and the consequences of errors
- Desire for social justice and a genuine wish to act in clients best interests
- Empathetic nature with an ability to put clients at ease and sensitivity to difficult situations
- Willingness to learn and take on constructive feedback and opportunities to improve
- Honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards
- An awareness of professional standards and regulatory framework which solicitors work within
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
- An approachable nature and willingness to take on tasks that are assigned to you
- Excellent client care skills
- Desire to identify areas in which work can be done in a better way
- Demonstrate working practices which promote personal wellbeing
- A flexible attitude to working and a willingness to do what is needed to help the team
- Good timekeeping in relation to personal punctuality as well as the completion of tasks
- An ability to take responsibility for all steps required on cases allocated
- Ability to convert a high proportion of new business enquiries into paying clients
- Preparing representations and undertaking research on more complex matters
- Managing a complex case load with responsibility for matters from start to finish
- Contributing to the teams overall billing target
- Dealing effectively with new business enquiries and maximising conversion rates
- General administrative tasks in relation to individual file management
- Progress new business enquiries towards successful client instructions
- Liaising with clients to request documents
- Bundling documents together in support of applications
- Promoting our corporate values
- Taking proactive steps to ensure staff are happy and satisfied in their team and the staff turnover remains low
- Promoting a culture of compliance and excellence within the team

- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Ability to deliver exceptional client care
- 2 years direct experience of Personal Immigration Law
- A clear practicing certificate if a qualified solicitor
