Personal Injury Case Handler

About the Role

My client is recruiting for a Personal Injury Case Handler to join their Pre Litigation Credit Hire team in Manchester.

This is an opportunity to join an established personal injury team, managing a caseload of pre litigated personal injury cases involving credit hire. The role would suit someone with experience handling claims through the OIC and MOJ portals who is confident managing their own caseload and providing a high standard of client care.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of pre litigated Personal Injury claims involving credit hire.
  • Handling claims proceeding through the OIC portal.
  • Managing claims through the MOJ portal up to a value of £25,000.
  • Handling claims outside the MOJ portal up to £20,000 with supervision.
  • Managing Stages 1, 2 and 3 of the MOJ portal.
  • Reviewing and valuing GP reports without supervision.
  • Carrying out quantum reviews and assessments and formalising case plans.
  • Managing cases requiring more than one discipline of medical expert.
  • Handling minor cases proceeding to Infant Approvals without supervision.
  • Managing claims approaching limitation and understanding the procedures involved.
  • Liaising with credit hire organisations and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Working in accordance with the Pre Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules and relevant compliance requirements.

The Candidate

  • Have relevant experience handling personal injury claims for at least 18 months.
  • Have a strong understanding of the OIC and MOJ portals.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the Pre Action Protocol.
  • Have a good understanding of credit hire claims and relevant case law.
  • Have experience reviewing and valuing medical evidence without supervision.
  • Have experience carrying out quantum reviews and assessments without supervision.
  • Have experience handling claims involving multiple medical expert disciplines.
  • Have a good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Be confident, assertive and proactive with a determination to get things done.
  • Have excellent customer service, telephone and fact finding skills.
  • Have strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
