Personal Injury Claims Handler

This is an exciting new hybrid working career opportunity within the Insurance industry. We're seeking ambitious professionals who are looking to build a long-term career in Personal Injury Claims. Whether your experience comes from insurance or legal services, financial services, customer-facing roles, or another environment where you have managed cases, made decisions, and delivered excellent customer outcomes, we'll provide the structured training and support needed to develop into a successful Personal Injury Claims Handler.

This role offers the opportunity to apply and strengthen your case management, communication, analytical and decision-making skills while developing specialist expertise in personal injury claims, liability assessment, negotiation and settlement. You'll work as part of an experienced team, receiving comprehensive training and ongoing coaching to build your technical knowledge and progress your career.

Claims is about much more than processing paperwork. It's about listening to customers, understanding complex situations, making informed decisions, and helping people move forward following an accident or injury. You will be:

  • An effective communicator who can build rapport and influence outcomes.
  • Analytical and curious, with the ability to review information and reach balanced decisions.
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple cases and priorities.
  • Customer-focused, with empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive situations.
  • Confident engaging with a variety of stakeholders including customers, solicitors and other professionals.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated to develop specialist expertise within Personal Injury Claims.

Essential Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience managing claims from intimation to settlement, investigations, awareness of legal environment, customer disputes or similar workloads.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse information and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a regulated, professional or customer-focused environment. This is a hybrid role which will require 2 days in the Belfast office and the remainder working remotely.

Desirable Experience:

Experience gained in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Legal services, litigation support or personal injury law.
  • Complaints handling or dispute resolution.
  • Liability, risk or regulatory environments.
  • Investigation-based roles.
  • Customer advocacy or case management positions.
  • Progress towards or completion of relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CII, Law Degree, Legal Practice qualifications).
