Specialist Personal Injury Team

Established North West law firm
We're working alongside an established North West law firm with a specialist Military and Police legal practice, looking for a Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team in Stockport.
The role will focus on supporting claims for serving and former members of the Armed Forces and Police Federation members, working alongside experienced solicitors on a range of personal injury matters. The team has particular experience in complex and serious injury claims, including orthopaedic injuries, brain and spinal injuries, chronic pain, psychological injury, noise-induced hearing loss and other injuries arising from military and police service.
This is an opportunity for an experienced claimant PI Paralegal to join a specialist team where client care is particularly important, with responsibility for progressing matters efficiently and keeping clients informed throughout their claims.
Responsibilities
- Manage and progress a caseload of Military and Police personal injury claims on behalf of claimants.
- Assist with claims from initial instruction through to settlement and final completion.
- Work on a range of personal injury matters, including claims involving serious and complex injuries.
- Liaise with clients, ensuring they are kept informed of progress throughout their claim.
- Communicate with clients clearly and sensitively, both in writing and over the telephone.
- Liaise with medical experts, insurers, barristers and other third parties as required.
- Assist with rehabilitation and other aspects of the client's claim where appropriate.
- Prepare correspondence, documentation and evidence in support of claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and ensure key deadlines are met.
- Prioritise workload effectively and progress matters in accordance with internal procedures and relevant legislation.
- Support the wider team with business development and marketing initiatives where required.

What we need from you:
- Previous experience working as a claimant Personal Injury Paralegal.
- Ideally 2+ years' experience within PI.
- Experience managing and progressing your own caseload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A client-focused approach and the ability to explain legal processes clearly.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- A commercial approach to case management and an understanding of costs and financial targets.
