The Conservative Party is seeking to appoint an exceptional Personal Operations Assistant to the Leader of the Official Opposition.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy office supporting a senior political figure. As a Personal Ops Assistant, you'll provide day-to-day assistance and organisational support, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
The role offers a varied workload, from managing tasks and correspondence to assisting at events and supporting day-to-day priorities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being organised, proactive, and focused on delivering high-quality support with discretion and professionalism.
You'll work closely with an experienced and supportive team, gaining exposure to a wide range of responsibilities and developing valuable skills in organisation, communication, and relationship management. Attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential, as no two days are the same. Politics does not operate on a typical 9-to-5/Monday-to-Friday schedule, and this position requires a flexible and responsive approach to meet the everyday demands of this fast-paced environment. This is primarily an office-based role in Westminster, Central London.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
