Key Accountabilities

The Opportunity

As a Personal Tax Assistant, you’ll be responsible for the preparation and processing of personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations. You will assist with tax computations, handle client queries and gather relevant financial information. You will work in a newly formed, collaborative team with a focus on enhancing efficiencies and accuracy. Working with integrated automation tools which will assist accurate reporting and help you manage clients personal tax obligations effectively.

Day to Day Duties

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of personal tax returns (PTRs) for Legend 1 and 2 risk clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the process.
  • Effectively manage personal workload within the agreed operating model, consistently meeting and exceeding individual performance KPIs.
  • Follow structured processes to engage with clients, ensuring all necessary information is gathered to enable the accurate and timely preparation of PTRs.
  • Operate within the Azets UK Office engagement framework, liaising with local offices to address client queries, resolve escalations, and ensure seamless communication.
  • Work closely with Hub colleagues to achieve shared KPIs, delivering exceptional client services in alignment with established processes and SOPs.

Client Focus

  • Makes best efforts to meet budgets and escalates potential budget overruns to senior members of the team.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the concept of job recovery and efficiencies.
  • Is able to communicate professionally with clients to request missing information/deal with basic queries arising.
  • Communicates in a professional and confident manner.
  • Puts client service delivery at the forefront, ensuring timely acknowledgement of client queries and escalates as required.
  • Able to identify and escalate, to senior team members, areas of improvement for the future from current working practices.

Technical Excellence

  • Clears review queries with reduced assistance and with thought and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use key performance software independently with reduced support.
  • Involved in less complex compliance, beginning to take more responsibility for sections of the work.
  • Continues to develop sector specific professional knowledge.
  • Increased awareness of upcoming and existing changes in relevant legislation and standards applicable to role.
  • Able to spot issues/areas of possible contention or increased risk early in the process and escalate to senior colleagues.
  • Reduce recurrence of similar or same review points.
  • Able to spot where previous solutions and experience can be applied.
