The tax team supports a diverse and established client portfolio including high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, sole traders, farmers, seafarers and non-resident individuals. Working as part of an experienced and collaborative team, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of technical tax matters while building long-term client relationships.
Your New Role
As a Private Client Tax Compliance Assistant Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring all compliance work is completed accurately and on time. This will include self-assessment tax returns, trust accounts, Making Tax Digital reporting and final declarations where required. You'll also be responsible for managing client relationships, monitoring work in progress, identifying opportunities for additional services and supporting the wider commercial success of the team.

Alongside your client responsibilities, you will review the work of junior team members, provide coaching and support their professional development. The role also offers exposure to a variety of private client advisory projects, including capital gains tax calculations, real-time CGT reporting, trust registrations and remuneration planning. You'll work closely with colleagues across the wider tax and business advisory teams to deliver a first-class service to clients.
What You'll Need To Succeed
You will have experience working within private client tax compliance and will ideally hold a CTA qualification, an equivalent tax qualification, or possess the relevant experience to demonstrate your capability. You'll be comfortable managing client relationships, reviewing work, prioritising deadlines and mentoring junior colleagues. Experience of CCH Personal Tax software would be advantageous, alongside strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
