Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Personal Tax Semi Senior to join our dynamic tax team. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in personal tax who is looking to take the next step in their career. As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage portfolio of personal tax clients ensuring compliance with HMRC and in-house deadlines
  • Prepare tax computations and returns for Manager/Partner review
  • Review tax work prepared by non-tax specialists
  • Provide technical assistance in resolving tax queries
  • Provide assistance on ad hoc advisory projects including technical research
  • Provide advice on tax liabilities, working within tax law and HMRC provisions
  • Identify tax planning opportunities
  • Provide capital gains and inheritance tax planning advice
  • Manage complex HMRC correspondence

Skills, Qualifications and other Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to work as part of a team, yet also work using own initiative when required.
  • ATT/CTA qualified or prepared to work towards
  • Good commercial understanding
  • Ability to work to demanding deadlines in a high pressurised environment
  • Ability to travel to client premises and between offices
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical ability
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Good understanding of accounts
  • Self motivated and keen to progress
