Experienced Personal Tax Senior Manager - Leeds Office
An experienced Personal Tax Senior Manager is being sought to be based in our Leeds office to provide additional support to our growing and dynamic team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families, and leading on delivering advisory project work. The portfolio comprises a range of typical private clients including business owners and entrepreneurs, clients with land and rural interests, non-resident/domicile clients, family offices, and family trusts. Experience in these areas is therefore highly desired.
This is a challenging and interesting client-facing role which provides an excellent and unparalleled range of work for someone with a strong tax background in private wealth clients. The role provides a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career in a senior role within a large established personal tax team.
Key Duties Include
- Identification of planning opportunities and overseeing the delivery of advisory projects.
- Assisting with tax affairs for wealthy individuals, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
- Managing the relationships and looking after the tax affairs of high net worth private individuals, families, and associated entities including trusts.
- Attending and leading client meetings to discuss and implement tax advisory and compliance projects.
- Ensuring technical competence and accuracy of the department’s work through review.
- Budgeting.
- Adherence to statutory and other deadlines.
- Meeting billing targets and other financial metrics.
- Monitoring time and recovery for allocated clients.
- Reporting back to partners.
- Liaising extensively with clients in relation to day-to-day tax affairs and planning issues.

The Team
The Personal Tax team consists of over 120 employees spread over 9 UK offices (Bristol, Bournemouth, High Wycombe, Peterborough, Edinburgh, Inverness, Leeds, London, and Manchester). The team delivers exceptional quality compliance and advisory services to a wide range of high-net-worth private clients, these include those with UK and offshore interests, property owners, business owners, partnerships, and trusts.
The Office
Our Leeds office is home to 6 partners and over 90 staff. Our modern, purpose-built office space in Wellington Place is within walking distance of the city centre with easy access to bus and national rail services.
Ideally You Will Have
- A minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience operating at Senior Manager level and CTA qualified.
- Dealt with a range of tax issues appropriate to our client base of private clients.
- Commitment to a career in tax and will have relevant strong experience in a tax-focused role in a medium to large-sized firm.
- It is essential that you have experience of organising the delivery of tax work, problem-solving, and the ability to use your own initiative.
- Experience of designing and delivering advisory work and be comfortable and familiar with using the tax legislation together with supporting guidance and commentary to arrive at conclusions.
- Previous experience of using computerized tax packages is useful.
- The ability to provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence in dealing with partners and clients.

- A 35-hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4).
