Personal Trainer – Self-Employed

Base Wellness | Hackney & Shoreditch, London

Working window:

Approximately 6:30am–2:00pm

Realistic earning potential:

Up to £80,000 per year

Newly qualified PTs welcome – no previous PT experience required

About the Role

Base Wellness is looking for Personal Trainers who want to build a serious career, not just find somewhere to train clients.

You might already have experience, or you might have just qualified. Either way, we want to hear from you.

We care far more about your attitude, communication, work ethic, and willingness to learn than how many years you’ve been a PT.

Why Base Wellness Exists

Base Wellness was created because we experienced what so many PTs still go through today.

  • You qualify.
  • You enter the industry excited.
  • You get onto the gym floor.
  • And then you’re basically left to figure it all out on your own.

Questions like:

  • How do I get clients?
  • How do I speak to people?
  • How do I retain clients?
  • How do I build a real career?
  • Who do I ask when I’m stuck?

There often isn’t much structure, mentoring, or support around you.

That’s exactly what Base Wellness was built to change. We wanted to create the environment we wish existed when we first came into the industry. A place where PTs can learn together, train together, socialise together, and help each other grow.

You’ll still be self-employed and building your own career, but you won’t be doing it alone.

Mentorship from Day One

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

One of the biggest things we offer is support.

From your first day, we sit down with you and understand:

  • Your personal goals.
  • Your professional goals.
  • Your financial goals.
  • What you want your career and life to look like.
  • Where you need support to get there.

You’ll have ongoing mentoring, feedback, and education around coaching, communication, sales, client retention, systems, and building your own client base.

If you’re newly qualified, this gives you the opportunity to learn around experienced coaches while developing your confidence in the real world.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll fit Base Wellness if you:

  • Want to grow personally and professionally.
  • Genuinely care about helping people.
  • Are confident, or willing to become confident, starting conversations.
  • Communicate well and enjoy building relationships.
  • Are organised and comfortable with admin and systems.
  • Take feedback well and act on it.
  • Want to keep learning and improving.
  • Train yourself and take your own health seriously.
  • Are willing to work hard to build the career you want.
  • Want to contribute to a team and community.

No previous Personal Training experience is required. If you’ve recently qualified and want the right environment around you while you learn, we’d genuinely like to talk to you.

What You’ll Get at Base Wellness

Being self-employed doesn’t have to mean being on your own.

You’ll have:

  • Ongoing one-to-one mentorship.
  • Weekly PT education and development.
  • Support learning how to build a client base.
  • Sales and communication coaching.
  • Support with client retention and service.
  • Regular feedback from experienced PTs.
  • PT training sessions.
  • Weekly socials and community activities.
  • Team days, experiences, and trips.
  • A group of PTs you can learn from and collaborate with.
  • Support building a community around your own clients.

The Opportunity

This is a self-employed opportunity based across Hackney or Shoreditch, with a core working window of approximately 6:30am–2:00pm.

For the right PT who is willing to learn, build relationships, follow the systems, and put the work in, there is realistic earning potential of up to £80,000 per year.

Your role will include coaching clients, building relationships on the gym floor, managing your communication and admin, learning Base Wellness systems, and actively growing your client community.

This Probably Isn’t for You If…

  • You don’t want to learn.
  • You don’t like feedback.
  • You avoid speaking to people.
  • You dislike admin or structure.
  • You expect clients to simply be handed to you.
  • Or you just want somewhere to train sessions and go home.

We’re looking for people who want to get involved and build something.

Interested?

Whether you’re an experienced coach or have only just qualified, if you’re looking for mentorship, community, education, accountability, and the opportunity to build a serious PT career, we’d like to meet you.
