Vacancy: Personal Welfare Support Assistant

Staffs LGS Grade 2: Scale Point 4 £25,185.00 (Full Time Equivalent: 1).

27.50 / 37.00 hours per week Term Time Only (43.89 / 52.14 working weeks)

Pro Rata Actual Salary: £15,756.78 (£1,313.06 typical GMP)

Fixed Term contract commencing Oct 2026 - 17.07.27.

The Local Academy Council and Senior Leadership Team would like to appoint a Personal Welfare Support Assistant to compliment our existing team. The school is a large and inclusive Primary school. The successful candidate must be a good team player, willing to share best practice with excellent communication. They must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to young children and their development.

We are looking for an excellent individual who is able to challenge and motivate children, bring fun and enthusiasm for learning and they firmly believe that every child can achieve something they can be PROUD of. The successful applicant will develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with children and maintain regular contact with parents/carers dealing with questions and concerns they may have.

Some of our children have very specific needs, therefore experience of working with children with SEND is preferable. This post is a fixed term position linked to specific children and will commence early October 2026 following the successful completion of an enhanced DBS check.

All applicants are subject to safer recruitment procedures with the successful candidate being subject to an enhanced DBS check prior to commencing the role. The Academy will also require two references and withhold the right to terminate an application if it does not meet the necessary safeguarding requirements.
