Job Description
This is a dual workplace role. The post holder will be required to work across more than one location within their allocated cluster. Travel between locations will be required in line with business need. Staff are expected to attend all four allocated PDU locations, typically working from a different office each day per week, with one day per week working from home, subject to business need.
Job Specification
- Offering individual and group consultations, writing formulations and developing pathway plans for cases that screen into OPD and recording this in line with current guidance. Flexibility on whether PDPO delivers group consultation.
- Delivering CORE-OM joint case work as required
- Attending MAPPA as required for cases that screen in.
- Delivering training including the OPD induction for OPD staff, Personality disorder Awareness Training (PAT) to probation staff
- Promoting the OPD pathway and services offered within PDUs including via attending managers meetings
Additional Role Information
This role includes aspects that differ from the generic probation officer job description, such as PDPO staff completing Joint Case Work (JCW)
Staff are managed within the OPD team. The PDUs allocated to the role and addresses of offices covered within are as follows:
Ealing and Hillingdon PDU
- Ealing Probation Office, Leeland House, London, W13 9HH
- Uxbridge Probation Office, The Court House, Middlesex, UB8 1PQ
- Acton Probation Office, 4 Birkbeck Road, Acton, W3 6BG
Brent PDU
- Willesden Probation Office, 440 High Road, NW10 2DW
Hammersmith, Fulham, Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster PDU
- Hammersmith Probation Office,191A Askew Road, London, W12 9AX
Harrow and Barnet PDU
- Hammersmith Probation Office,191A Askew Road, London, W12 9AX
Please note that any candidates placed on the merit list following recruitment may be considered for future PDPO vacancies across the London region, which could be based at different locations.
The successful postholder will be required to undergo and pass NPPV Level 2 vetting as a requirement for this role. NPPV Level 2 vetting process will be initiated upon acceptance of the provisional offer.
Technical Skills
To be eligible for this role, you must confirm you meet the mandatory qualification requirements outlined below and you must also upload a scanned copy of your qualifications.
Applicants that do not provide the mandatory qualification evidence, will not progress to interview stage.
Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/ Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice.
Or a Qualification Which Was Recognised At The Time Of Qualification By The Secretary Of State For Justice As Per Section 10 Of The Offender Management Act 2007. The Following Qualifications Gained In England And Wales Were Previously Recognised As Providing Such Eligibility:
- Diploma in Probation Studies,
- Diploma in Social Work (with Probation Option)
- CQSW (with Probation Option)
