Pet Claims Handler

Description
Davies are looking to recruit a Pet Claims Handler to join our Niche Claims team in our Preston office. The role of Pet Claims Handler would suit someone with a passion for animals, as you'll be assisting with policyholders’ queries and assessing insurance claims for cats and dogs. Previous claims handling experience isn't necessary, although this would be advantageous, as we will provide full training, but you will need to have strong administration and telephone skills, along with great attention to detail.
What will your day look like:
- Communicating professionally with a variety of people including customers, insurers, and colleagues around the country
- Composing professional and informative letters and other written correspondence
- Ensuring compliance with our contractual and regulatory requirements
- Reviewing data to set up new claims, and updating claims on internal systems
- Reviewing insurance policy wordings to establish if a claim is covered
- Follow standard claims procedure to determine the validity of claims
- Ensure the accuracy of information recorded in the database
- Provide high quality and professional assistance when dealing with telephone calls and correspondence
- Adapt to the constantly changing requirements of the department and the company and perform additional tasks as may be required

Knowledge and Abilities:
- Previous experience of dealing with pet claims would be advantageous, but not essential
- Excellent Customer Service and communication skills are required for this role
- Understanding and reassuring telephone manner
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Computer literate and strong keyboard skills
