We’re recruiting a Pet Welfare Assistant for off-site animal care, for our Rehoming & Fostering team in Hertfordshire!

At Blue Cross, we're dedicated to providing the best care possible for pets in need. As a Pet Welfare Assistant for our off-site services, you'll play an important role in our mission, ensuring that every pet receives the love, attention, and support they deserve whilst they are in our off-site care.

Our Hertfordshire rehoming centre, based in Kimpton, originally opened in the 1940s and have facilities for dogs, cats and small pets. Our newly refurbished facilities include 20 kennels, five puppy pens and 29 cat pens, which includes a mother and kitten unit. We also have indoor rabbit space and rooms for small pets.

Our dedicated Rehoming & Fostering team, supported by an incredible network of volunteers, helps pets and people across Hertfordshire and beyond. The team plays a vital role in finding loving new homes for pets through both centre-based adoptions and our Home Direct scheme, which allows pets to remain in a home environment while they wait to be adopted. By working closely with adopters, owners and foster carers, the team helps ensure every pet has the best possible chance of finding the right home.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
