Originally founded as the Petford Duo, the ensemble has evolved into a versatile collective of exceptional musicians from the UK’s leading conservatoires, offering flexible line-ups ranging from duo to quartet and beyond.
Distinctive Sound, Versatile Style
Renowned for their ability to blend timeless classics with contemporary favourites, Petford Ensemble performs everything from Bach and Vivaldi to Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and Hans Zimmer. Their diverse repertoire spans classical, pop, film, and light jazz, creating bespoke soundscapes perfectly tailored to weddings, corporate events, luxury venues, and private celebrations.

From Duo to Ensemble
Founded in 2019 by cellist Josh Mountford and violinist Aleksandar Petrov, the group’s early success performing across the UK and Europe inspired its expansion into a full ensemble. This evolution allows Petford to adapt seamlessly to every setting — from intimate ceremonies to grand receptions and concert performances.
