About the Role

This role leads the delivery of postgraduate research (PGR) recruitment and admissions activity within the Doctoral Academy. The postholder contributes to the development of recruitment strategy and works closely with the PGR Services Manager and with the Marketing, Planning and Finance teams to support delivery against student number targets. The postholder manages the Doctoral Academy’s Recruitment and Admissions Team, providing operational oversight of policy, processes, reporting, and compliance. They are responsible for ensuring the effective management of all admissions and selection processes.

Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, the postholder oversees the allocation of studentship funding, liaising with recruiting supervisors, industry partners, and colleagues in Finance. The postholder also plays a key role in enhancing the applicant experience, ensuring a high-quality, consistent approach to recruitment and admissions delivery. More broadly, they contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across Professional Services, supporting a flexible and collaborative approach that places the postgraduate researcher experience at the centre of all activity. Colleagues will be expected to work flexibly across the University, taking on assignments and roles as required, underpinned by the principles of business partnering and collaborative working.
