About the Role

Evolve is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical company who are looking for an ambitious Key Account Manager to drive access to their Rare Disease portfolio across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to build strategic NHS partnerships, shape patient pathways and improve access to specialist treatments, making a meaningful difference to patients and the wider healthcare system.

This is a full-time, permanent position covering the UK, working closely with specialist treatment centres.

Ideal Requirements for the Pharmaceutical Key Account Manager

  • Bring proven pharmaceutical sales expertise – Demonstrable experience in hospital pharmaceutical sales, ideally within a Key Account Manager or equivalent role, with the confidence to operate effectively across complex healthcare environments.
  • Make an impact in specialist and rare diseases – Experience within rare diseases or specialist therapy areas, with the opportunity to apply your expertise to a portfolio where your work can make a meaningful difference to patients.
  • Navigate complex NHS access pathways – Strong understanding of NHS funding and commissioning frameworks for high-cost medicines, with the ability to identify and overcome access challenges across different healthcare systems.
  • Turn account strategy into results – A proven track record of developing and delivering effective key account plans, combined with excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and networking skills.
  • Communicate with credibility and influence – The ability to translate complex scientific and technical information into clear, compelling conversations with a wide range of healthcare professionals, supported by ABPI qualification.

Role Responsibilities for the Pharmaceutical Key Account Manager

  • Drive market access and improve patient pathways – Lead national and regional initiatives that help unlock access our clients Rare Disease portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve patient identification, referral and treatment pathways across the NHS.
  • Build influential strategic partnerships – Develop trusted, long-term relationships with key NHS and healthcare stakeholders, using your understanding of the healthcare landscape to influence appropriate treatment pathways and improve patient access.
  • Own and shape strategic key accounts – Develop and lead impactful account strategies that align national brand priorities with local healthcare needs, identifying opportunities and turning strategy into meaningful outcomes.
  • Be a trusted clinical and scientific partner – Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and become a valued source of accurate, up-to-date clinical and technical expertise across relevant rare disease areas.
