Purpose of the Role

To clinically promote J&J’s portfolio of medicines across prioritised NHS Trusts ensuring optimised appropriate patient access.

Following a structured training programme combining self-led learning and expert-led sessions, your primary role as a Pharmaceutical Sales Graduate will be to lead the business plan for implementation within NHS Trusts, you will deliver specific tactics to support appropriate local uptake of medicines in agreement with your National Sales Manager (NSM).

Developing a detailed and in-depth understanding of NHS Trust health priorities, local NHS Trust Pathways and inter-connectivity of the patient journey to other system pathways will be a core requirement to inform effective business planning & customer engagement.

What you will do:

Clinical Promotion & Scientific Knowledge (Licensed Indications ONLY)

  • Use your scientific understanding to hold clear, balanced and engaging conversations with healthcare professionals about licensed medicines.
  • Support the delivery of local account plans and agreed sales activities, working closely with your manager and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Plan and prioritise customer engagement across your assigned NHS Trusts and local healthcare organisations.
  • Help healthcare professionals understand appropriate treatment options, pathway developments and opportunities to improve patient access.
  • Support educational activities for healthcare professionals while working in line with J&J policies, codes of conduct and the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Maintain strong product, therapy-area and competitor knowledge to support effective customer engagement.

Business Plan Execution

  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to demonstrate the total system value of the brand and deliver agreed sales, financial, marketing and brand objectives, always keeping patients at the centre.
  • Build trusted, balanced relationships with customers, disease-state experts and speakers or advocates, responding proactively to their needs and supporting strategic account plan goals.
  • Develop and implement effective customer call plans that deliver appropriate activity, coverage and frequency, improving access and sales opportunities.
  • Use CRM reporting, data and dashboard insights to make informed decisions, manage activity effectively and drive performance.
  • Gather and share market intelligence, while using customer preferences, personas and digital channels to tailor engagement and help the brand team anticipate market needs.

  • A highly motivated individual, with positive and progressive mindset and drive to succeed.
  • Recent Graduate with a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Biosciences or related scientific field.
  • Experience of a clinical setting either through university course or work experience.
  • An individual who sets high standards and expectations and always aims to improve.
  • You will see your territory business as your own, demonstrating ownership and accountability.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and evolve ways of working – open minded.
  • Embracing of challenges & change, seeing these an opportunity to GROW.
