About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and conscientious Clinical Research Pharmacist to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist seeking a rewarding role away from the pressures of community pharmacy, where quality, patient safety and research excellence are the priority.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, dispense and reconcile investigational medicinal products in accordance with study protocols.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and accountability records.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including stock control, temperature monitoring and expiry date management.
- Ensure medications are stored securely and in accordance with sponsor and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Investigators, Research Nurses and Clinical Trial Coordinators to support the successful delivery of clinical studies.
- Liaise professionally with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), sponsors and regulatory inspectors during monitoring visits and audits.
- Participate in pharmacy quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain full compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), MHRA requirements and all relevant legislation.
- Keep up to date with developments in pharmacy practice, clinical research and investigational medicines.

Qualifications
You will be a qualified Pharmacist with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to patient safety and research quality.
Required Skills
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Professional, reliable and committed to maintaining the highest standards.

Preferred Skills
- Previous experience within a hospital pharmacy, aseptic services or clinical research environment.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Experience of investigational medicinal products (IMPs).
- Experience working within regulated healthcare environments.
- Previous clinical research experience is not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
