Pharmacy Assistant (Maternity Cover) - Day Lewis Newbury

Hours of Work

  • 20 hours per week
  • Tuesday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Thursday: 1:30pm - 5:30pm
  • Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm

Fixed-Term Maternity Cover Contract

This position is offered on a fixed-term maternity cover contract until the end of October 2027.

Whilst the role is initially offered on a temporary basis, Day Lewis is committed to retaining talented colleagues. Should opportunities arise, we will look to offer additional hours within the pharmacy or opportunities at nearby Day Lewis pharmacies before the contract comes to an end.

Day Lewis is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Newbury.

As part of your development, you will complete a structured induction programme and receive ongoing support and training. Depending on your previous experience, you may also undertake accredited pharmacy training to further develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Pharmacist Manager, you will:

  • Assist the pharmacy team in delivering excellent patient care and customer service.
  • Support the safe and efficient running of the dispensary.
  • Assist customers at the medicines counter and provide a friendly, welcoming service.
  • Build positive relationships with patients and local healthcare professionals.
  • Support the delivery of pharmacy services and healthcare initiatives.
  • Follow company procedures and pharmacy regulations at all times.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated and supportive team.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Is organised, reliable and willing to learn.
  • Has a genuine interest in healthcare and pharmacy.
  • Is committed to providing outstanding service to patients.

Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
