Pharmacy Assistant / Dispenser

Day Lewis Pharmacy, Woodley, Reading | 30 Hours Per Week

Units 1 & 2, Loddon Vale Centre, Hurricane Way, Woodley, Reading, RG5 4UX

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm (60-minute unpaid lunch break)

30 hours per week. Additional hours may become available in the future.

Day Lewis Woodley is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant / Dispenser to join our friendly, hardworking team.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our co-owner and resident Pharmacist Manager, gaining invaluable experience and insight into the fast-moving world of community pharmacy. Based in a busy 20,000-item pharmacy, no two days are the same. You'll be part of a team that is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while embracing new services and opportunities within healthcare.

Whether you're already working in pharmacy or looking to begin a long-term career in healthcare, this role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment where you'll learn, grow and develop every day.

The Role

As a Pharmacy Assistant / Dispenser, you'll play an important role in supporting the pharmacy team and ensuring patients receive safe, efficient and professional care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the safe and accurate dispensing of prescriptions
  • Supporting the Pharmacist Manager and wider team with daily pharmacy operations
  • Providing excellent customer service at the counter and over the telephone
  • Supporting NHS and private pharmacy services
  • Building strong relationships with patients, GP surgeries and local healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining high standards of organisation, professionalism and compliance
  • Contributing positively to a busy team focused on outstanding patient care
